Depression
is a condition of low mood and aversion to the activities of a person’s
that affect his or her thoughts, behavior, feelings and sense of well
being. Depressed people may feel anxious, sad, worried, hopeless,
helpless, empty, guilty, worthless, empty or restless.
Manic depression is also known as bipolar disorder
and is a chronic, recurring condition. Manic depression is classified
as a type of mood disorder or affective disorder that goes beyond the
day's ordinary ups and down. It is a serious medical condition and important health concern all over the world.
The term “manic depressive psychosis” was founded by German Psychiatrist Kraeplin. Manic depression was first appeared in the psychiatric diagnostic in 1952. It was replaced by the term Bipolar in 1957.
Symptoms of manic depression
Though
less common than other types of depression this involves cycles of
depression and elation. A man or a woman can be identified easily if he
or she exhibits manic depression symptoms.
One of the most significant manic depression symptoms is, the
individual has an alternating pattern of emotional highs and lows

to be an exaggerated physical and psychological state. But sometimes it
is induced by the use of psychoactive drugs and it is not a typically
achieved during the normal course of human experience. Some natural
behaviors, such as activities resulting in orgasm, love or the triumph
of an athlete can include brief states of euphoria.

breaking household rules or the law, aggressive behavior is one of the
important symptoms of manic depression. Aggressions can a problem for children with both normal development and those with psychosocial disturbances.
Agitation or irritation
Agitated depression is a symptom of manic depression. It is a condition with a number of easy to recognize symptoms.
As
for symptoms the person with agitated depression is less likely to be
seemed melancholy and others more like to be highly irritable or
disturbed.
Besides these symptoms, it has some other symptoms including-
- Decreased appetite or weight loss, overeating and weight gain.
- Difficulty remembering, concentrating and making decisions
- Decreased energy being ‘slowed down’
- Feelings of guilt, worthlessness and helplessness
- Early awakening or oversleeping
